  Banana Facts

Hi friends...a very warm hello to all of you. Here's an interesting piece of info, found it beneficial for many. It actually changed my perception of the fruit.

Monica Nagpal
THZ
A little scientific dose to begin with...Bananas contain three natural sugars:
  1.  sucrose,
  2.  fructose
  3.  glucose combined with fiber
  • A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy :

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

  • DEPRESSION:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

  • PMS:
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

  • ANEMIA:

High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

  • BLOOD PRESSURE:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

  • BRAIN POWER:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

  • CONSTIPATION:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

  • HANGOVERS:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

  • HEARTBURN:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
  • MORNING SICKNESS:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
  • MOSQUITO BITES:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
  • NERVES:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
  • ULCERS:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
  • TEMPERATURE CONTROL:
Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Five Drinks to Help You Lose Weight

The secret to losing weight isn’t just watching what’s on your plate; it’s also about watching what’s in your glass. Popular soft drinks, fruit juices, and energy drinks can be loaded with added sugars and carbohydrates that can sabotage your weight-loss strategy. Here are five tasty ways to drink up without packing on the pounds.

1. Water
We all know this one, but it’s important to remember that water is the single best choice for effective weight loss. Whether it’s still or sparkling, aim to make water your go-to beverage choice. Think water is boring? Try adding fresh lemon slices, lime, cucumber, and even a slice of tomato to add flavor without adding many calories.

2. Vegetable juice
Whether in a can, bottled, or homemade, vegetable juice is an excellent way to get the fiber and nutrients your body needs to fuel your weight loss. If you can find a low-sodium variety, even better. The veggies will keep you fuller longer and the tangy flavor will keep your taste buds happy.

3. Unsweetened tea
Green tea has been proven to help boost metabolism and speed up weight loss. Try it hot or iced with a bit of honey for a low-sugar sweet drink. Don’t forget black and oolong teas, too! Both are filled with antioxidants, which can help rid your body of toxins.

4. Black coffee
A morning cup of tea or an afternoon iced coffee can help spur your weight loss by providing a boost of caffeine that suppresses hunger. Also, coffee has been shown to stimulate thermo genesis, which heats up the body and boosts metabolism. Just be careful about what you add to your coffee — stick to skim milk and very little sugar.

5. Skim milk
Milk is an excellent source of lean protein, vitamin D, and calcium that can help build your muscles and keep your bones strong. Opt for low-fat or skim milk for all of the vitamins without the added fat. If you are feeling indulgent, add a little chocolate — low-fat chocolate milk is a great option for post-workout muscle recovery

Installing Love...

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love. Can you guide me though the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart, ma’am?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running, ma’am?

Customer: Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge & Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem,
Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system.

It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. (Creator can heal it completely if you choose to NOW)
Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem.

However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment.
Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed.
Can you turn those off, ma’am?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support : With pleasure.

Go to your start menu & invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge & Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error - Program not run on external components .” What should I do?

Tech Support: Don’t worry, ma’am. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart.
In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance;
then click on the following files:
ü Forgive-Self
ü Realize Your Worth
ü Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files & begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories & empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone & never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace & Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed & running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it & its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

Being an Actor without drama

"The chemicals that are running in our body and our brain are the same chemicals that are involved in emotion. And that says to me that . . . we'd better pay more attention to emotions with respect to health." (Candice Pert)

Emotions are a means of communication more persuasive than mere words. How easy it is to be buoyed by the happiness of others, to be infected by their anger, to feel weighed down by the burden of their sadness. Spectators watching a movie live through the myriad emotions just while watching the movie. They are moved in different ways just during the duration of the movie.
People cry and laugh along with the scenes on the big screen or the small screen (which is no more small actually). Scientifically no emotions may be experienced if there are no corresponding chemicals in the body. Some people have the ability to use and some have the ability to suppress their emotions with the varying degree of control over their chemical composition. For a person to be happy, there has to be an adequate amount of happy hormone in the body. An excess of the same chemical can create hallucinations.

Just imagine what the actor or actually the actor's body  must be going through while emoting. When an actor is emoting...he's bringing in a certain chemical in the body. If the chemical is not produced he/she won't be able to bring that emotion alive on screen.

When we all are whistling and clapping about a humorous scene, the actors with their emotional projection are able to trigger the release of the happy hormones in us also. Thus, we also become happy.

On the flip side, similarly when there are action sequences, the actors need to bring in a lot of aggression. So to bring out that emotion they need to have the chemical release of adrenaline in their body. Due to this chemical they are able to bring it out on screen.
When adrenaline is released as in a natural process, a balancing hormone noradreline is also released which neutralizes the chemical or converts it into something harmless whereas otherwise it gets converted into cortisone which is a stress hormone. Having the stress hormone will make a person experience stressful conditions only. The old adage what is inside will reflect outside holds true always.

Hats off to the actors who have been so entertaining all these years. It's time that we share with them the art of managing their emotions (or managing their chemicals) in order to continue living a healthy life in terms of physical, mental and emotional health as well. This will also help them invite only happiness in their lives. Gossip columnists may not be very happy to hear this but that's how it is. I believe the chemicals in their body will also change and so will their real life despite living their usual reel life replete with  emotional see-saw.

But there is no longer any doubt that our basic emotions are hardwired into the human system.

A conscious release of chemicals such as epinephrine, cortisone etc. may harm the body and it may result in Heart muscle disruption, metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalance, acne, weight gain etc to name a few. The Good news is it is easily manageable now with World's Best miracle- ThetaHealing.

Benefits of  Dietary Supplements

Dietary supplements cannot erase the sins of an unhealthy lifestyle. They can however be a very important component of any wellness program we wish to pursue.

We firmly believe at THZ that all the dietary supplements can help you only if you have the corresponding beliefs in place. Thus,  "Belief Work & Feeling work" from Creator's perspective is
highly recommended to get the benefits of the supplements that one takes.

The following supplements represent the basics of well rounded nutrition:

A good quality multi-vitamin/mineral - A good multi supports the minimum requirements of all the essentials. It fills in the gaps with respect to our daily food and beverage intake. Taking a daily multi can foster better health when coupled with good nutrition. Some research shows that several of the nutrients found in high-quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplements can play an important role in preventing many chronic diseases including heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis.

A daily multivitamin supplement ensures an adequate intake of several micronutrients that are not always present in the diet in optimal amounts.

As with all supplements, it is essential to use only high-quality, bio-available multivitamins which are lab-tested and independently certified. In the US, supplements are not under the direct control of the FDA and many of the cheaper OTC brands fall far short of their dosage claims. Also, as a result of their processing, many vitamins are never fully digested, and therefore pass through the body unutilized. There are pharmaceutical grade supplements which are usually available through a doctor’s office. Such supplements are superior.

Magnesium – Magnesium is a mineral required by each and every cell in your body. Magnesium has a role in maintaining normal muscle and nerve function. It keeps the heart rhythm steady, and promotes strong bones. It is also involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Recent studies have shown that magnesium may be the most important dietary mineral. Most Americans and Europeans are deficient in magnesium. Magnesium deficiencies are associated with increased mortality from all causes. Magnesium is essential for calcium utilization as well as 300 essential bodily functions.

Vitamin D3 – Science now recognizes the importance of vitamin D (D3 is the most usable form). Humans make vitamin D in the presence of sunlight. The problem is that people spend far too much time sheltered from the sun. Therefore, people tend to be markedly deficient in vitamin D. Research shows that this vitamin is protective against all cancers. It is essential for calcium utilization which strengthens bones. It helps prevent diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease. It can also raise immunity and improve mood.

Omega 3 Fish Oil - Omega-3 fish oils can have many health benefits. Its active constituents EPA and DHA protects against heart disease and diabetes. Fish oil is highly anti-inflammatory. Fish oils help to heal blood vessel walls, preventing hardening of the arteries. It thins the blood minimizing the chances for clotting. It lowers blood pressure, and stabilizes blood sugar. It also can improve mood.

Probiotics – Probiotics are live, naturally-occurring microorganisms (usually bacteria) which function in the digestive tract to maintain normal digestion. These beneficial bacteria boost the immune system, and contribute to general health. Probiotics can also be helpful in maintaining urogenital health.

While the body needs an adequate amount of good bacteria for normal function, such bacteria is either made inadequate by today’s lifestyle or destroyed by antibiotic use. When there is an imbalance between good and bad bacteria the digestion system suffers. The immune system then becomes distressed making the body more vulnerable to infection, odor, bad skin, exhaustion and numerous other adverse conditions including Crohn’s Disease, irritable bowl syndrome, gastrointestinal upset and diarrhea.

Co-enzyme Q 10 (CoQ-10, also known as ubiquinol) – CoQ-10 is a naturally-occurring compound found in every cell in the body. It boosts cellular energy and ATP production. It is also a powerful antioxidant. CoQ-10 also helps your body burn fat, improves cholesterol ratios, and can raise your overall physical energy level. Coenzyme Q10 benefits the heart, brain, and kidneys. It also improves thyroid and pancreas functions. It also helps limit the damage caused by cholesterol lowering drugs. Some diabetes drug, antidepressants, female hormone replacement therapy and blood pressure medications can lower natural levels of CoQ-10.

Zinc - Zinc is found in every tissue in the body and is directly involved in cell health and reproduction. It is a powerful antioxidant. Zinc can help prevent certain forms of prevent cancer and is involved in endocrine function and the maintenance of proper hormone levels. Zinc activates white blood cells to fight ``infections and can protect against viral infections. Zinc deficiency is linked to infertility, prostate problems and decreased libido. Insufficient levels of zinc can increase the negative effects of stress and accelerate the aging process.  Zinc is necessary for optimal energy and proper body composition. Zinc also plays a role in protein synthesis and is required for proper function of red and white blood cells. It is highly concentrated in our bones, the pancreas, kidneys, liver, and retina. Zinc helps the pancreas make insulin in order to maintain normal sugar levels. Zinc is also important for maintaining a normal sense of taste and smell and maintaining a good memory.
